Professor Gift Mugano, the Executive Director at Africa Economic Development Strategies, tells Sly Media TV that political pressure has caused governors at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) to do the unthinkable.
Mugano gives examples of where President Emmerson Mnangagwa had overridden decisions made previously by the former RBZ governor John Mangudya, especially the catastrophic decision to suspend lending which did not last.
He also talks about the fight for territory that has seen the Minister of Finance Mthuli Ncube in April and May last year make announcements on issues that are under the purview of the Central Bank.
