Activists have called for the African Union (AU) to intervene and denounce the state sanctioned crackdown on opposition political activists, human rights defenders and ordinary citizens being perpetrated by President’s Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration.

Zimbabwe’s President has pledged to address economic challenges faced by ordinary citizens. President Emmerson Mnangagwa delivered his first State of the Nation address during the opening of the ninth session of parliament in Harare. He said his government will continue to use the multi-currency system until a solution has been found.
