Children love their parents and instinctively, parents always love their children but what happens when a Government deliberately separates these by detaining a parent without trial for 10 years? Can those children remain the same?

The British government has donated 10 million dollars. The money’s designed to allow 250,000 children to stay in school. The move is seen as a potential warming of relations between the two countries. CCTV’s Farai Mwakutuya has more.

A group of MDC-T youths early Friday staged a demonstration at the party headquarters in a show of displeasure at recent incidents of violence. There were claims the youths had been bused in by a faction of the party loyal to Secretary General Tendai Biti.

“As war veterans, we lost limbs fighting for this country and most of these people involved in corrupt activities never went to war. How can I sell the country for only $500 when people are stealing as much as $300 000?” Joseph Chinotimba queried in a recent parliamentary debate.

Thousands of people have turned out for the official birthday party of Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe who turned 90 years old. The celebrations were estimated to have cost one million dollars, at a time when many Zimbabweans are struggling to survive.
