United States based Zimbabwe music legend Thomas Mapfumo shares experiences from his trip to Zimbabwe last year. In an interview with Nehanda Radio Managing Editor Lance Guma, Mapfumo describes how Bulawayo looked like a ‘western movie town’ with horses.
The outspoken singer narrates how he met unemployed youths selling pirated copies of his CDs in Beitbridge and how he told them it was not their fault. He also describes the power cuts and high levels of poverty afflicting many Zimbabweans and says the leadership in the country has failed.
