National Vendors Union of Zimbabwe Chairperson Sten Zvorwadza was brutalised by riot police as he tried to present a petition to the Zimbabwe Republic Police to act against corrupt activities by Local Government Minister Saviour Kasukuwere. Violence broke out in Harare as riot police sought to break up a protest by the #Tajamuka movement against the introduction of bond notes in Zimbabwe.
