Videos of police officers and soldiers in Zimbabwe assaulting civilians on the eve of the much-hyped July 31 protests have flooded social media.
In some of the videos viewed by this publication, citizens were being whipped by baton stick wielding army and police officers. They are being chased away from Harare’s CBD.
Every citizen trying to gain entry into the capital is being harassed, with nurses and fellow members of state security the only exceptions.
