A combination of inadequate service delivery, poor drainage systems and incessant rains have resulted in the country’s biggest marketplace Mbare Musika being a hotspot for typhoid and other water-borne diseases.
While the Ministry of Health has condemned Mbare, and Harare City Council has expressed its concerns, there seems to be no action being taken. In other words, Mbare is a typhoid disaster that is currently going on, unabated.
