Zimbabwe’s Supreme Court early this week ordered the government to compensate a rape victim who was denied adequate care to prevent a pregnancy, after she was gang raped eight years ago. Mildred Mapingure reported to the police less than 24 hours after the rape and was supposed to get emergency contraceptives, which were delayed. She also tried to sue government for not allowing her to terminate the pregnancy.
