Zimbabwe set to breach half a billion US dollars revenue from tobacco sales – VIDEO
Buyers and sellers gather on the trading floor in Zimbabwe’s capital to bid on bales of dried tobacco leaves as the marketing season kicks off. According to the industry regulator, the country is on track to produce 200,000 tonnes of tobacco this year, up from 184,000 in 2020.

Tobacco farmers in Zimbabwe are a depressed lot. After investing a lot of money in the crop ahead of what initially seemed like a fruit full season, prices have nose plunged by over 70% in some cases, exposing many small scale farmers to heavy losses.
