Former Zimbabwean Vice President, Phelekezela Mphoko has been declared a fugitive from justice by the Zimbabwean anti-corruption Commission (ZACC). He failed to surrender himself to officers of the Commission on Monday in Bulawayo. Political commentator Dr. Pedzisai Ruhanya explains to the SABC why Mphoko did not feel confident about handing himself over to Mnangagwa’s courts.

President Robert Mugabe announced that he’s going to reshuffle his cabinet this week. This comes amid speculation of a fall out between the country’s two vice presidents Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko. Mugabe was addressing the youth wing gathering in Harare.

Tensions are escalating in Zanu PF after Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa hit back at Second Vice President, Phelekezela Mphoko saying he is malicious, disrespectful and contemptuous. Mphoko said in a statement that Mnangagwa was destabilizing the country and fanning ethnic tensions. First Lady and Zanu PF Women’s League President Grace Mugabe has also accused Mnangagwa of contradicting himself.
